First-rate communication and interpersonal skills are essential for our Medication Aides to excel in their role of delivering top-quality medical care:
- Administer patients' regular dosage of medication, which may be either prescribed or non-prescribed drugs, daily.
- Join hands with different nursing professionals to provide top-notch patient care and manage medications.
- Always bring your medication list and any necessary medical devices with you when traveling, and inform any medical professionals you encounter of your medication regimen.
- Note the exact medication dosages and the recommended times for taking them.
- Take note of any alterations in a patient's physical, mental, or emotional state.
- Acknowledge patient calls for assistance through emergency signals, intercoms, or bell systems in a timely manner to address their needs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A Certified Medication Assistant (MAC) certification is the minimum requirement for this job
- State regulations mandate that individuals maintain a current and valid certification in medication administration
- To deliver effective long-term care services, one must possess extensive knowledge of nursing and medical procedures as well as the legal and regulatory guidelines
- The position demands candidates who are not younger than twenty years of age
- English language proficiency is a must, encompassing both verbal and written skills, along with comprehension
- To work effectively with elderly and disabled persons, one must be equipped with the skills of patience, tact, enthusiasm, and positivity
