Our Medication Aides' primary goal is to deliver exceptional patient care. They possess a high level of expertise in administering medical care procedures and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills:
- Deliver patients' everyday medications, which may either be prescribed or over-the-counter drugs, on a daily basis.
- Work in tandem with other nursing staff to ensure proper patient care and medication dispensing.
- Keep your medications out of reach of children and pets, and dispose of any unused or expired medications properly, according to your local regulations.
- Document the medication quantities and the corresponding times for taking them.
- Pay attention to patients and keep track of any fluctuations in their state of health.
- Quickly respond to patient emergencies via signals, intercoms, or call bells to determine what assistance is needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- The minimum standard for this role is holding a Certified Medication Assistant (MAC) certification
- State mandated guidelines necessitate that an individual possess a medication administration certification that is current and valid
- A good grasp of nursing and medical procedures, as well as the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern long-term care, is vital
- The position demands candidates who are not younger than twenty years of age
- To fulfill the requirements of this position, you must demonstrate proficiency in English, including oral and written communication and comprehension
- A caregiver must exhibit characteristics of patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook for elderly and disabled individuals to thrive
